Stainless Steel 440C Sheets and Plates typically contain 16–18% chromium, 0.95–1.20% carbon, and small amounts of manganese, silicon, and molybdenum. The high carbon content significantly enhances hardness and wear resistance after heat treatment. The alloy offers tensile strength of approximately 760–1100 MPa and yield strength of 450–650 MPa, with hardness levels reaching up to 58–60 HRC when fully hardened. While corrosion resistance is moderate, its exceptional strength and abrasion resistance make 440C ideal for precision tools and high-stress mechanical components.
