Aluminium 5754 is an Al–Mg alloy (AlMg3 type) with magnesium as the principal alloying element, typically around 3% plus controlled amounts of manganese, chromium, iron, silicon, and trace elements to enhance strength and corrosion resistance. Typical mechanical properties for 5754 in common tempers show tensile strength roughly 190–330 MPa, yield strength about 80–200 MPa, elongation around 10–20%, Young’s modulus near 69–70 GPa, and density about 2.67 g/cm³. The alloy exhibits excellent resistance to seawater and industrial atmospheres, very good weldability, and good formability, making it suitable for anodizing and surface finishing on drawn and spun circle products.
