Aluminium 2014 Plates and Sheets feature a composition of aluminium balance, copper 3.9-5.0%, silicon 0.5-1.2%, iron max 0.7%, manganese 0.4-1.2%, magnesium 0.2-0.8%, chromium max 0.1%, zinc max 0.25%, and titanium max 0.15%, providing excellent strength via precipitation hardening. In T6/T651 condition, they exhibit tensile strength of 415-480 MPa, yield strength 370 MPa min, elongation 6-11%, hardness 120-135 HB, density 2.80 g/cm³, Young’s modulus 73 GPa, and thermal conductivity 130-190 W/m·K. These properties ensure good fatigue resistance but require cladding or painting for corrosion protection.
